The Saint-Mélaine church, of Romanesque foundation and rebuilt in the 16th century, is located less than 10 minutes from Châteauneuf-sur-Sarthe, on the border between Anjou bleu and Sarthe.

The church of Romanesque foundation was given to the Abbey of Saint-Serge d'Angers by Lord Guy de Cré in 1075. It was rebuilt at the beginning of the 16th century Among other things, the building has a bell tower on the transept crossing, painted panelling dating from the end of the 15th century and the base of the cradle is decorated with scenes from the Old and New Testament.
