Cimetière militaire allemand d'Apremont

France > Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes > Ain > 01100 > Apremont > RD 442 (entre Binarville et Apremont-sur-Aire)

South of Fléville and Exermont, the commune of Apremont has a German cemetery with 1111 individual graves. This cemetery, created in November 1915 for those killed in the Argonne forest, is the only one to keep a large part of the burial sites in their original state. In particular, you will see the tomb and stele of Commander Baron Von Müllenheim-Rechberg, commander of the 5th battalion of chasseurs, killed at the Haute-Chevauchée on 8 April 1916. In the cemetery is the monument of the 27th Landwher Regiment.
