Discover some of the last mills in the Pays de Retz. Most of them lost their wings during the Revolution and ceased their activity at the beginning of the century. A few, requisitioned during the last war, however, have driven their millstones again thanks to steam engines: the
Via rue de l'Horizon, then Mondésir, reach the Moulin de la Sicaudais and admire the panoramic view over the Boivre valley and the St-Nazaire bridge... A number of localities, such as Moulin de la Vierge and Moulin des Landes, still bear the name of the mill that once stood there. Please note: this tour is also accessible by bike (1h), except on the beach and certain coastal paths. You can download the walking maps below, or pick them up at our Tourist Offices.
