CLOCHER DE SAINT LUMINE DE COUTAIS - OBSERVATOIRE

Whatever the road you come by, the bell tower of Saint Lumine de Coutais is a must for you. Its belvedere located above the bells makes it a privileged observatory of the Lake of Grand Lieu and its surroundings. Once you have climbed the 158 steps, you arrive at 40 metres above the ground. From the observatory, the lake and its varied environments are at your feet. In the summer, you can discover the distribution of vegetation around the lake: on the edge the grazed meadows (also called "common" of St Lumine"), then the mowed meadows, the wooded reedbed, the floating herbariums and finally the open waters of the lake.
