Last castle on the banks of the Loire before the ocean, this monument shows the architectural refinement of the court of Brittany. Rarely, it is freely accessible, from the moat to the ramparts.
The Museum of the History of Nantes, with its resolutely contemporary scenography, tells the story of the city: from ducal Brittany to the metropolis of today. The scenography allows a playful, aesthetic and educational approach to more than 850 objects in the collection. Throughout the year, exhibitions punctuate the life of the castle. SCHEDULE * Free access to the courtyard and ramparts: open 7 days a week, from 8:30 am to 7 pm. From 1 July to 31 August: 8.30am to 8pm * Moat garden open 7 days a week, from 8am to 7pm. From 1st July to 31st August: 8am to 8pm * Inside the castle, museum and exhibitions: 10am to 6pm, closed on Mondays. From July 1st to August 31st: 10am to 7pm, 7 days a week
