A classified natural site since 1995, the cirque of Courossé offers very steep landscapes on the banks of the Evre. The rock, constituted by outcrops of micaschists, overhangs the sinuous river of the Evre of more than 60 meters height. A sumptuous panoramic view of the Mauges is the key to a pleasant walk. From the parking lot, the alley of the Baronnière castle leads you quickly to the panorama. Various points of interest are on the menu of this very popular walk: the island with the causeway over the river, the old milling village, the tree-lined path at the top of the rock and the view of the Pope's farm which was given to Pope Leo XIII at the end of the 19th century 7 interpretation panels line the trail with the aim of informing visitors about different themes. A picnic area is at your disposal to invite you to eat in this charming natural setting (!) The staircase of Courossé is inaccessible but it is possible to go down by the adjacent path.
