EGLISE SAINT JEAN DE BÉRÉ

France > Pays de la Loire > Loire-Atlantique > 44110 > Châteaubriant > rue du Prieuré de Béré

One of the oldest Romanesque churches in the department!

Built in the 11th century, the church dedicated to St John the Baptist is undoubtedly the oldest in the department. It is a bare church but its baroque altarpiece and its classified statues give it all its charm under the watchful eye of an "Eternal Father" from an old altarpiece and a Sainte Rita sculpted by Jean Fréour in 1950 in the beam of an old cider press.
