Located 7 km south of Craon, the church of Saint Pierre de Bouchamps-lès-Craon holds a few surprises. This small country church stands out for its old architecture and the quality of its decorations.
This small church stands out for its ancient architecture and the quality of its decorations. Beneath its 12th century remains, it forms a showcase for the 19th century mural paintings which cover all of its interior walls - works of the Angevin painter René Jouhan -, altarpieces listed in the inventory of Historic Monuments and frescoes dating from the end of the Middle Ages. These treasures are currently the subject of a major restoration project.
