Meet the climbers where the river carved the granite. Viewpoints and a change of scenery guaranteed!
The creek shows you the way. It quickly leaves the parking lot and plunges down to a deep valley. The granite is already present at the bottom of the stream in the form of mossy blocks, then on the steep slopes, hidden under carpets of flowering Hyacinths of the woods and magnificent white Asphodels. Soon the view over the valley of the Sèvre Nantaise will be clearer and clearer until you arrive at the foot of the "stone colossus". This magical place is popular with climbing enthusiasts. More discreet climbers also frequent the place as evidenced by the crottiers on the prominent stones (the Martre or the very rare Genette). Holes in old trees indicate the presence of other climbing aces (Pics, Grimpereau, Sitelle...). The GR continues along the river towards the bridge and the old mill of Grenon. We then advise you to retrace your steps to go back up to the car park. A second opportunity to appreciate the landscape and to count the numerous dragonflies in good weather at the end of the afternoon.
