PANORAMA, POINT CULMINANT DE MONTJEAN SUR LOIRE

Climb up to the heights of Montjean-sur-Loire to admire a charming panorama of the Loire and the landscape of vineyards and orchards. Make yourself comfortable on a bench and take your time admiring this breathtaking view. This viewpoint invites you to relax and unwind, just 30 minutes from Angers. Marvel at the panorama, which combines the unspoilt nature of the village, the slate roofs typical of the region, the famous bridge built in 1850 and the quays. To the north of the Loire are Champtocé-sur-Loire, St Germain-des-Prés and St Georges-sur-Loire. Below the panorama, "la Grenouillère" was a flood zone until the construction of the levee. On the right bank, you can see the Sol de Loire, a sand extraction area. Behind you, the neo-Gothic church of Saint Symphorien was built on the ruins of a château burnt down in 1793 by the Republicans during the Vendée Wars. Push open the doors of this church, and you'll be seduced by its architecture and dizzying height.
