Among the games of boules, that of the boule of Fort is by far the most practiced and the most characteristic of Anjou. Its originality comes from the combination of a curved ground (25 m long by 7 m wide with slopes rising from 35 to 40 cm on the sides) and an iron-ringed ball, with one side heavier than the other called Fort (the iron ball weighs 1.4 kg for 12 cm in diameter and 9.5 cm thick). The players push these balls and try to get closer to the master called also small.
