Beautiful esplanade with a bandstand, green spaces (playground) and a seating area on the banks of the river
The square is divided into three parts: an esplanade, a green area with a playground and a tier on the banks of the river. In the 19th century, the filling in of the old branch of the river left a vast area that could not be built on, which the municipality decided to transform into a promenade. The landscaper Killian (1863-1866) was entrusted with this development At the end of a few months of work, Boston Square showed a resolutely mineral and modern face. Accessible since early summer 2011, this renovated space now extends over three parts: an esplanade with removable bins to host events, a green area with a playground and a tier on the banks of the river. The bandstand built in 1879 by the architect Georget has also been restored.
