At the Glory of Mary, it was raised to the rank of basilica on February 21, 1905. In neo-gothic style, the basilica is entirely built in granite.
Begun in June 1873, the basilica was completed in 1894 and consecrated on 15 October 1900, before being raised to the rank of basilica in 1905. Inside, the white limestone columns lighten the heaviness of the granite and underline the elevation of the vault. Above all, the visitor is surprised by the extraordinary luminosity of the building. Indeed, half of the wall surface is made up of glass canopies, each one more sparkling than the other.
