Personal exhibition

Charlie Chine's work is rooted in participatory approaches, which she transcribes in her exhibitions through stories, objects and studies that take shape in installations, sculptures, drawings and videos. Anonymizing participants, she explores the memory of our humanity, constantly oscillating between the individual, the intimate, the ordinary, the universal and the collective. For her, the individual is the variable, the unique, the comparable. The artist examines the habits of modern man and the conditions of his existence, such as his culture, his work, his education, the territory he lives in and the world he lives in, his work, his education, the territory he occupies or grants himself. She uses her research and the data she has gathered with great meticulousness and precision. She chisels copper, upholsters a trunk, types? she makes herself the artisan of her work, and the repository of an individual and collective memory. Giving a glimpse of our sometimes absurd, sometimes poetic habits, her work arouses the curiosity, astonishment and amusement of visitors.
