Discover the exteriors of the Château de Boisjourdan.

Boisjourdan was built under the reign of Louis XIII by François de Boisjourdan. The name Boisjourdan is said to come from the exploits of Hugues du Bois, the oldest member of this family, on a crusade on the banks of the Jordan River. The castle is built on the Fondreux. The main body of the house dates from the 17th century, but had to be rebuilt on the site of an old feudal castle. The chapel with its counter-curved roof was built on a rock in the century of Louis XIV. The buildings adjoining the castle, the orangery and the laundry room, also date from the 17th century.
