ÉGLISE SAINT-PIERRE - CHERRÉ

France > Pays de la Loire > Maine-et-Loire > 49330 > Les Hauts-d'Anjou > Cherré

The church of Saint-Pierre was rebuilt in the 19th century, in Cherré, a small village in blue Anjou, at the crossroads of the Mayenne, Sarthe and Anjou.

The church was rebuilt in the 19th century but retains its 17th century bell tower. It was completely destroyed by fire during the Chouannerie, hence its recent reconstruction. In 1967, work was carried out to update the paintings of the Calvary and three headless statues, one of which represents Saint-Séréné. They probably come from Le Plessis aux Nonnains, an estate located on Cherré, and certainly date from the end of the 11th century A visit support will allow you to discover the place.
