SENTIER D'INTERPRÉTATION DE CHEFFES

The discovery tour of Cheffes, city of dreams and water, invites you to follow the little red goose of Cheffes, which has been its emblem for four centuries. All along the route, riddles are proposed in the booklet given by the town hall. These riddles will give you clues about the word to find, which happens to be one of the old names of the village! (A surprise awaits you at the end!) You will pass through quiet and beautiful places. The points of interest in the village where the tour takes you are: La boule de fort, which is a traditional game of boules in Pays de la Loire and the borders of this region La grande-rue, a street where during the floods, the houses were supplied and where the inhabitants shared good moments The café Rivron, the cooperage is behind the store, while the café opens onto the square La Croix blanche, this small village formerly lined with fields and mills saw the arrival of the typical houses of the industrial era in the 19th century The lime kilns, the heart of the fire is approaching 1000°C, but the lime kiln maker continues his work The mill of Cheffes, the flour was replaced by the graphite and pastel dusts used to make pencil leads. It also produced electricity but has ceased all activity.
