SENTIER D'INTERPRÉTATION DE DURTAL

At the crossroads of great roads, on a point of crossing of the Loir, Durtal was from all times a place of history symbolized by a castle which crossed the centuries. Put your steps in those of the princes and kings who stayed there, imagine the carriages crossing the doors of the city, hear the noise of mills and tanneries which made its wealth. It is step by step that Durtal, city of stones born from the water, is discovered and that its history is revealed To accompany you during your visit, step by step, you will find a dozen panels presenting the history, the monuments, the Valley of the Loir and the economic life during centuries to facilitate your discovery. Itinerary of discovery of a loop of about 4 km in the heart of the remarkable heritage of the town. One by one, the historical and cultural treasures are revealed through the different playful stages. No rhythm or direction is imposed, only the thirst for discovery as a compass. The walkers become actors of the visit. We advise you to start your tour at the Place du Général de Gaulle in front of the Tourist Office.
