Oxygenate yourself on the banks of the Loire, between Montsoreau and Saumur, in the village of Parnay by staying in an atypical troglodyte gîte at "La P'tite Troglo" for 4 people.
Parnay: a small wine-growing village where a stroll between the Loire and the hillside is a must to discover the old troglodytic town hall on rue de la Cave Forte, the bust of Antoine Cristal by Saumur sculptor Alfred Benon, the bird sanctuary on Parnay Island or, more unusually, the milestone marking the Greenwich meridian which passes through here. Go through the grey gate, climb the few steps and discover your home, carved out of a tuffeau hillside! Through the door you'll find a large, light-filled living room, dining room and, at the far end, a fitted kitchen. For your nights, there's a bedroom for 2, with a bread oven that bears witness to the lifestyle of yesteryear, and a bedroom with 2 single beds. The view from your windows overlooks the small aromatic garden. Here you'll enjoy a complete break from your daily routine. Enjoy the terrace, deckchairs... Want to visit the region? Ask Christine Neau, the owner, for advice: there's plenty to discover in the surrounding area. A few ideas? Follow the signposted hiking and cycling trails, visit the Château de Montsoreau and the Abbaye Royale de Fontevraud, or drop in on some of the winegrowers... Enjoy your stay in the Loire Valley!
