From East to West, follow the GR65 of the Pilgrim's Way to Santiago de Compostela to discover, in the heart of the churches, collegiate churches and abbeys which mark out the circuit, magnificent wall paintings. Created between the 11th and 19th centuries, you will have the chance to admire some of the most beautiful in the department. Thanks to this circuit, you will also be able to discover the various landscapes which dress the Gers, between valleys with the allure of Tuscany and the expanses of vineyards of Armagnac...

SAINT-ANTOINE : Gateway to the Gers on the Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela CASTET-ARROUY : Small village located on the Way of St Jacques de Compostelle. Sainte-Blandine parish church built in the 16th century (facade and bell tower), reworked and which contains remarkable paintings of the 19th century SAINT-CREAC: The 12th century church of Saint-Loup, ravaged during the Hundred Years War, was rebuilt in the 15th and 16th centuries: Romanesque chevet decorated with remarkable wall paintings of Greco-Byzantine inspiration, restored in the 19th century LA ROMIEU : Collegiate church of Saint-Pierre de La Romieu from the 14th century, classified as a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Founded around 1330 by Arnaud d'Aux, the sacristy of the collegiate church is distinguished by its 14th century paintings VALENCE-SUR-BAISE : Cistercian Abbey of Flaran, jewel of the Cistercian Art in Gascony, founded in 1151 and daughter of the Escaladieu In the 18th century, departing from the rule, the monks had murals painted in the west and north galleries representing scenes of country life BEAUMONT : Romanesque church of Nôtre Dame de Vopillon from the 12th century where restoration work has brought to light remarkable wall paintings PANJAS: Saint-Laurent church, partly Romanesque: southern Gothic nave dating from the 15th century, Romanesque choir with remarkable wall paintings from the end of the 13th century NOGARO : The Collegiate Church of Saint-Nicolas (consecrated) from the 11th century has undergone numerous alterations over the centuries Today it is classified as a Historic Monument following the discovery in 1995 of wall paintings (the most important in the Gers dating from the 11th and 12th centuries) evoking the life of Saint Laurent BARCELONNE-DU-GERS : Bastide located near the Landes for those who continue the road.
