PAR LE HAMEAU DE TOURRENS

From castles to chapels, and from mills to springs, this trail passes through the hamlet of Tourrens and is a pleasant discovery of the fauna and flora. 1- On the place of the village of Mirepoix, in front of the castle, take the forbidden way on the left towards the castle and a house. 2- At the crossroads, turn to the left towards "Gavach". Walk past the farm and continue straight ahead on a track along the river Aulouste. 3- Leave the bridge on your right and go on the road D172 on your left during 1,5 km (be careful) - first lake on your left, then second lake on your right, point of view on the Pyrenees - up to the chapel of Mons. 4- Turn to the left on 500 m. On your right, you will see the mill of Mons. 5- At a big oak tree, turn to the right on a track which leads 1,5 km further to the hamlet of Tourrens and its chapel. 6- Cross the hamlet and continue straight ahead passing the "Hilhan" then the "Paguères" and continue on a dirt track. 7- Cross the bridge over the brook of Gangouille (spring with a cross on the left). Go straight ahead and go up on the road D151 - old mill on your left. 8- Take the road on your left up to the village. *** Nearby, discover the Domaine de la Higuère, which works its vineyard in reasoned protection.
