EGLISE NOTRE DAME - MAMERS

France > Pays de la Loire > Sarthe > 72600 > Mamers > Rue du 115ème RI

A special feature: the triforium. It is an openwork corridor located just above the large arcades.

The church was originally the chapel of a priory founded between the 9th and 11th centuries, of which nothing remains. The current facade is original because of its very high, polychrome porch sheltering a double door. The central nave, 24m long, the two side aisles and the choir with their pointed arches and pointed crossbows correspond to the Gothic tradition. The choir is surrounded by 5 chapels dedicated to the Blessed Virgin, the Blessed Sacrament and Saint Julien. Don't hesitate to take the audio-guided tour of Mamers to learn more about this church!
