Entre bocage et roussard... en attelage

Between Sargé-sur-Braye and Mondoubleau, this itinerant loop in Perche-Vendômois is made for riders and leaders, lovers of wide open spaces. This route takes you through the Percheron bocage, where "plucked hedges" (an old technique where the branches of country hedges are folded horizontally to form a living fence) and "trognes" (pruned trees) define the singular character of this preserved environment. The presence of the "roussard" (reddish-brown ferruginous sandstone, the only local ashlar used since the 12th century), which still adorns the dwellings of the villages of Perche-Vendômois, contributes to the authenticity of this heritage of character.
