Date:

As every year in spring, the AMTP Quercy organizes, in partnership with the Pastourels de la Tour, a day dedicated to traditional dances and songs. This year it will be on Saturday, April 15, at the Espace d'animation in Montcuq. With Gilles Lauprêtre, we will focus on the dances of Auvergne: Bourrées for two in the morning, various dances in the afternoon (various forms of scottishes, mazurkas, polkas, bourrées for four, collective bourrées?) And under the direction of Anne Enjalbert, morning and afternoon, a singing course will take place centered on the repertoires of the Haut Languedoc. In the evening, the ball will be shared between the AMTPécaires, musicians of the AMTPQuercy, the well known Duo Artense, and the duet "N'Jalbèrta e Caumont d'Aste" composed of Anne Enjalbert and Pascal Caumont, for a part of the ball dedicated to the song to dance. A day and an evening not to be missed, book now!

The traditional dance workshops will be led by Gilles Laupêtre (you can register for one workshop or for the whole day) - 10:00 am - 1:00 pm: Bourrée for two: the morning will be devoted to bourrées for two dancers, a form that favors games of listening and engagement with the partner. We will propose a sort of playful toolbox that will allow to enrich the dance in relation to the use of the dance space, to the dynamics, to the rhythm of the steps used and to the personality of the partner. The model will be that of the bourrées collected in Saint Donat, applicable in the forms of ball. Level required: correct mastery of the bourrée step. Limited to 30 students. - 14h30 - 17h30: Dances of Auvergne: various forms of scottishs, polkas and mazurkas, collective dances, and for the bourrées, it will be the Aubrac with its characteristic style: a step, a character, a corporality, dances with forms with four, collective, with two... Level required: no beginner. Limited to 30 students The traditional singing workshop will be led by Anne Enjalbert. - 10:00 am - 5:30 pm: we will work on a repertoire of the Haut Languedoc (Rouergue, Tarn, Quercy) from collected songs: work songs, feminist songs, love songs, solo songs, dance songs... in order to appropriate their specificities, styles, rhythms, etc. The work on the energy of the collective sound, the timbre, the body posture of the traditional singer will underlie the learning. A work of vocal accompaniment with several voices will be privileged in order to develop the common sound and the collective practice. A restitution of the training course could be envisaged before the beginning of the meal. Level required: all levels. Limited to 20 students. Traditional ball from 21h00: - Duo Artense (Auvergne): Basile Brémond (violin, vocals) and Hervé Capel (accordion): "An amazing duo for a subtle and rhythmic music, born on the plateau of Artense. Basile and Hervé succeed in a paradoxical challenge: to appropriate (sometimes with humor) a music and melodies, while remaining at their service. Their approach is, quite simply, based on their love of this music". AEPEM - N'Jalbèrta e Caumont d'Aste: A moment of ball with Anne Enjalbert and her accomplice Pascal Caumont, through a repertoire of songs to dance.
