Transhumance de Rocamadour à Luzech

The next Rocamadour-Luzech transhumance will take place from Tuesday April 16 to Saturday April 20, 2024. The transhumance is an opportunity to accompany the flock of ewes as they reclaim the overgrown areas of the Lot valley. The five-day walk takes in the splendid byways between Rocamadour and Luzech. Information and instructions: Accessible to walkers with regular physical fitness. Bring a cap, a bottle of water and good walking shoes (no water is distributed on the route). To ensure the smooth running of the transhumance and the peace and quiet of the flock, everyone is asked to walk behind the flock at the same pace as the ewes. It is forbidden to walk in front of the flock. Carriages, donkeys and horses are authorized under the owner's responsibility. Registration required on 06 83 29 62 22. All other means of transport are forbidden (motorized vehicles, bicycles, mountain bikes, etc.) except behind the broom wagon. Do not touch the animals unless invited by the breeder. Dogs are not allowed, even on a leash. Unauthorized camping prohibited. Meal reservations to be made with each organizer and confirmed by sending payment. The event is also accessible to people with reduced mobility, thanks to the provision of a "Joëlette" which mobilizes volunteers along the route.
