Date:

Nika Kutateladze and Tako Robakidze come from Georgia, a country in the heart of the Caucasus, on the eastern border of Europe caucasus, on the eastern edge of Europe between Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia. Their artistic practices differ, but they share a common observation - documentary for one, allegorical for the other - of their native country. Reunited for the first time in a single exhibition, they have conceived an original installation... Through a localized experience, the works of Nika Kutateladze and Tako Robakidze echo essential questions that are currently shaking people in Europe and around the world.

Using a multiplicity of media, from painting to architectural installation, Nika Kutateladze creates environments that stage the memory of Metsieti, a Georgian village, her father?s birthplace, now almost deserted by the rural exodus... Tako Robakidze uses photography and video. She creates visual narratives that tell the story of her country and the consequences of the upheavals it has undergone over the past thirty years for over thirty years. Through long immersions in the field, notably on the outskirts of the separatist territories of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, she observes the disrupted lives of human communities... Opening March 10 at 7pm free admission, general public Résonances, an encounter between art and music on Friday, March 29 at 6:30 p.m. in partnership with Arts et Scène
