Château de Mez-le-Maréchal

France > Centre-Val de Loire > Loiret > 45680 > Dordives > 6210 Route de Bransles

About an hour from Paris, lost in a green setting, hides the castle of Mez-le-Maréchal. Built by relatives of King Philippe-Auguste, on the model of the Louvre, it has, unlike the latter, managed to preserve almost all of its medieval architecture. A surprising castle!

Located in Dordives, about 1 hour south of Paris, nestled in the heart of the forest, the "Louvre du Gâtinais" opens its doors to you. Built by relatives of King Philippe-Auguste, on the model of the Louvre, it has, unlike the latter, preserved almost all of its medieval architecture. A surprising castle! Thanks to his experience as a stonemason and master builder of Guédelon, Florian Renucci will reveal the history of this place which contains three castles for the price of one: the master tower from the end of the 12th century, the Philippine castle from the beginning of the 12th century and the royal residence from the 14th century. A surprising story, coupled with a human adventure, which is far from over... A virtual visit is also proposed on the castle's website.
