The commune of Chevry-sous-le-Bignon is home to one of the few Romanesque churches in the region, which gives it a picturesque charm linked to the discretion of its bell tower nestled below the village.
Built in a recess, in the heart of the valley, this Romanesque church dates from the 12th century, but it is probably older (as evidenced by its Carolingian nave). The church has 14th century wall paintings, alternating secular and religious scenes. Men on horseback, Saint-Hubert surrounded by dogs, small characters and other details are to be discovered on these walls. The charm of this church is closely linked to its geographical location. Its picturesque charm is closely linked to its geographical location. Indeed, this one is almost hidden at the edge of the river. During the Heritage Days, a guided tour is offered.
