The building has the shape of a rectangle on which a polygonal chevet is grafted. The bell tower, close to the church, was built in a former tower of the city walls. Among the 19th century stained glass windows, thirty evoke the litanies of the Virgin. Panelling from the Coligny castle.
The facade is pierced by three openings allowing access to the church. The main portal is surmounted by a gothic window with two lancets. The tympanum is decorated with a Greek cross inscribed in a radiating glory, with a hand in the centre, two fingers raised, a sign indicating the superiority of the teacher. Inside, there is a nave with two side aisles, the northern one is lined with chapels. Liernes connect the keystones decorated with coats of arms. In the centre of the organ loft, a grisaille painting on a marouflaged canvas depicts King David sitting in a cave. A chapel is dedicated to St Potentienne, the second patron saint of Châtillon-Coligny. In the chapel of the Sacred Heart, there are panels of 17th century panelling from the Coligny castle.
