Unattended bathing

Resulting from glacial erosion, perched behind an impressive moraine, Lake Alfeld proudly overlooks the valley! In 1883, the Germans built a 30-metre high dike to raise the level. It was inaugurated in 1888 and hailed as a technical feat. Above the lake is the Chalet and its Wasserfall, a beautiful 40-minute hike from the dyke offers a breathtaking view of the Doller Valley. Activities: fishing and walks, (bathing prohibited, at your own risk).
