Fête de la tarte aux myrtilles

The Fête de la Tarte aux Myrtilles organized by the Société de Musique Ilienkopf will take place on August 15, 2024. This beautiful festival will now be held at the "Wolfsgasse" in METZERAL. This bucolic location is about 2 km from the center of Metzeral, on the outskirts of Metzeral towards Mittlach, almost opposite the "Chalets de la Wormsa" inn. For the past 31 years, this family-friendly festival has celebrated blueberry tart, the noble fruit of the mountains surrounding the Munster Valley in the Haut Rhin, as well as the pastry-making and festive traditions of the Munster Valley. It has become a staple of summer celebrations in Alsace, and has acquired its letters of nobility over the years. From midday onwards, the musicians of the "Ilienkopf" will be welcoming visitors, tourists, locals and other gourmets to the open-air Wolfsgasse at 68 METZERAL, beautifully laid out and equipped with marquees. As an aperitif, you can enjoy a blueberry beer or a blueberry lemonade made in the Munster valley by the Brasserie du Marcaire. The musicians will then serve a lunch of roast pork ? green salad and French fries. Throughout the afternoon, everyone can enjoy a slice of blueberry tart, with or without whipped cream. The blueberry tarts, which are guaranteed to be wild, are handcrafted according to a recipe from the Munster Valley. Returning from a walk in the mountains, folklore-seeking holidaymakers, tourists and villagers alike can relax to the sounds of folk orchestras, dance to the tunes of the Ilienkopf Music Society Orchestra and, from mid-afternoon, enjoy a "flammekueche", prepared and baked on site. All in all: a wonderful afternoon in a superb rural setting, not to be missed!
