A "classic" route around Guebwiller via the Bannstein Pass and Soultzmatt and back via the vineyard cycle route.
A "classic" route starting from Guebwiller, allowing you to walk around, without going too far, nor crossing a pass that is too high. Indeed the Bannstein pass has only a slightly more elevated part of 2 km between 5 and 7% but this is far from being impassable. You will have ample opportunity to recover in the descent to Soultzmatt by Gauchmatt and its Romanian military cemetery.
