La Collégiale Saint-Thiébaut

Considered as one of the most beautiful gothic churches in Alsace, let yourself be seduced by this historical jewel and its triple tympanum unique in France.

After the cathedral of Strasbourg, the Collegiate Church of Thann is one of the most representative buildings of the Rhenish Gothic style in Alsace, bringing together the 3 forms of Gothic style: primitive, radiant and flamboyant. It owes its name to the college of canons that moved there in 1442. The construction of this monument lasted more than two centuries, from the end of the 13th century to 1516. The west façade is decorated with a remarkable triple tympanum portal with more than 500 figures. Inside are the chapel of Saint Thiébaut and the chapel of the Virgin. In the choir, you can admire the stalls and the stained glass windows of the 15th century.
