Restaurant la Vieille Forge

Contemporary setting, beautiful selection of Alsace wines in perfect harmony with the refined cuisine of chef Laurine.

Located in a small alleyway in the heart of the charming medieval town, birthplace of Dr. A. Schweitzer, this is the place to be for lovers of refined, gourmet cuisine. The contrast between the 15th-century facade of the house and the contemporary decor of the small dining room, where red is the dominant color, is striking. Laurine, the chef, backed by her brigade, is always on the lookout for new combinations of sweet and savory tastes. Her exquisitely flavored creations are true culinary discoveries to delight the palate. Try the escargot cromesquis or pan-fried foie gras as a starter, continue with a sweetbread heart or a back of julienne and finish your meal with a strawberry or pistachio-flavored sweet treat. In the dining room, Antoine and his highly professional team offer you a warm and smiling welcome. They'll be happy to advise you on the best wine and food pairing for each dish. The restaurant has been awarded a Bib Gourmand and 2 Fourchettes in the Michelin Guide, a Toque in the Gault Millau guide, and has been awarded the Chefs d'Alsace label, which promotes regional cuisine and seasonal produce, and the Restaurant de Qualité label by the Collègue Culinaire de France. From January 1, 2024, luncheon vouchers will only be accepted by card.
