Former chancellery of the end of the 15th century, it is the most concrete vestige of the former powers of the imperial city. The Alsatian Museum houses numerous utilitarian or decorative objects that bear witness to the art of living in Alsace during the 19th century.
A former chancellery dating from the late 15th century, it is the most tangible vestige of the imperial city?s former powers. The city?s archives and treasury were kept here for safekeeping. The Alsatian Museum houses numerous utilitarian and decorative objects that bear witness to the art of living in Alsace during the 19th century. One room is dedicated to regional costumes. A recreation of a potter?s workshop occupies one of the museum?s rooms, alongside a traditional interior with its kitchen and alcove-equipped "Stub" (bedroom). The astronomical clock is a copy of the one built for Ulm (Germany) in 1581 by the Swiss Isaac Habrecht. The building now houses the Tourist Office and the Alsatian Museum. Combined ticket for Haguenau?s 3 museums (History, Alsace and Luggage), valid for 2 days: 6? (reduced 3?)
