The village of Villaines, close to the ancient Le Mans - Chartres road, grew up around the church on the hillside in the Middle Ages. You'll appreciate its rural character and the well-preserved architecture of the houses in the village and those of the old farms scattered across the countryside. Their materials - terracotta tiles and bricks, limestone rubble and lime renderings colored with local sands - are in perfect harmony with this landscaped setting, with its beautiful views over the Huisne valley.
