On August 24, 1662, Master Leodegar de Guebwiller and Master Grégoire Heitz d'Orschwihr signed the contract for the execution of the communal fountain (Stockbrunnen). They were paid 20 florins and a measure of wine. The statue of the Virgin was sculpted by Master Albrecht "the Milanese", from Rouffach, with his brothers and companions from Murbach (Source: Account book of the provost Sebastian Nessel). Date 1663 on the base of the statue.
