The chapel built in 1846 no longer met the needs of the population. In 1962 an association for the construction of a new chapel was created. The plans were drawn up by Jacques Schulé from Mulhouse and the direction of the work was entrusted to Léon Reitzer. The young people of the village, transformed for the occasion into laborers, masons and craftsmen, built the church.

Inside the chapel is a baroque statue of Saint Séverin, dating from 1716 and made of polychrome wood. It was restored in 1983 by the painter Wiederkehr de Soultz This chapel is part of the Circuit of Churches and Chapels "In the footsteps of Mary".
