Eglise Saint-Martin

France > Grand Est > Haut-Rhin > 68980 > Beblenheim > rue Saint-Martin

The Catholic church was built from 1864 to 1866 on the site of a former cemetery, its construction marks the end of simultaneity.

The Catholic church was built on the site of a former cemetery between 1864 and 1866, at the same time as the present Protestant church, thus marking the end of the Simultaneum. The church houses a high altar dating from the 17th century from the former abbey of Pairis. In 1864, when the new churches were built, the organ from the old simultaneous church was transferred to the new Catholic church. The design and installation of this organ was entrusted in 1792 to the organ builder Rinckenbach from Ammerschwihr by the Protestant parish of Beblenheim
