Built in 1518, the arsenal consists of three buildings. Originally called Zeughaus, it was not until 1785 that it took the name of Saint-Hilaire during transformations carried out by the commander of the town's artillery: Marc Gaspard Capriol de Saint-Hilaire. The arsenal housed several thousand pioneer tools, lead, tar and ammunition. The impressive framework with three levels of attics covered with tiled floor tiles, attests to the storage function of the building.
