Traditionally, the 108 sun salutations are performed at each change of season: the winter and summer solstices and the spring and autumn equinoxes. Indeed, the sun salutation is a symbolic and moving way of greeting and thanking the sun for its vital energy. The seasons are characterized by variations in sunlight, which have been observed since the dawn of time. This makes them an ideal opportunity to celebrate the sun in a more profound way. This is the purpose of the 108 sun salutations ritual at each change of season.
You can come with your mat and your friends. Open to all, this will be a silent moment together (I won't guide by voice). You need to be a regular yoga practitioner and in good shape to do this ritual. I propose the traditional Sivananda greeting, which has 2 cycles to make one. I think that 54 complete Sivananda salutations will be enough to perform this ritual. (You'll need 2 containers and 54 or 108 seeds for the count). However, anyone who knows another greeting and would like to take part is welcome. Allow 1 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. Don't forget your mat, sunscreen and water bottle. Everyone is responsible for themselves and their belongings: this is a public moment, not a yoga class. We've already done 16 complete cycles, so you'll need to train a little more and increase the number of cycles, either at home or in class.
