VILLAGE DE LANNEMAIGNAN

The commune has several Armagnac producers who raise their vintage wines of exceptional quality with passion and love. It is crossed by the Midour river which leaves the department to irrigate the Landes. The main attraction of Lannemaignan is its charming little church which dates back about 3 centuries, with a suitably decorated pyramidal bell tower which dominates the surrounding area. The western end of the nave is topped by an octagonal spire covered in slate. The entire building, surrounded by a cemetery, has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1979. In the heart of the village, a monumental cross on a stone base dates from 1846; it is topped by a rooster holding the instruments of the passion of Christ. The village has many beautiful Armagnac farms, half-timbered houses and cob but also with wine storehouses. Lannemaignan is the happy transition from the great moor of Marsan and the vineyards of Armagnac.
