AEROCLUB DE LUCHON

Born from the will and enthusiasm of a handful of enthusiasts around Léon Elissalde, the Luchon Aero Club was founded in 1950. Located in the heart of the Pyrenees, at the foot of the highest peaks of the chain and at the confluence of 5 valleys, the airfield of Luchon benefits from an exceptional situation and an ideal aerology which allow the realization of magnificent flights. Gliding is the first vocation of the aeroclub. It is declined under many forms. The first step. The initiation flight in a two-seater glider, in the company of an experienced pilot, will be the first joy you will encounter in the world of gliding. It will allow you to understand and feel "how it works". We propose two formulas of discovery glider flights for one person: the first one at the end of the morning towards the high summits and the second one in the afternoons in the Luchon area. It is also possible to offer gift vouchers valid for 1 year depending on the chosen formula. A more in-depth course. If adventure and the silence of the sky call you, the 3 or 6 day introductory course is ideal to acquire, at your own pace, the basics of flying. The aeroclub also offers tourist flights by plane. For a walk or a first flight, a flight in a plane is a unique experience! Accompanied by a professional pilot or experienced private pilot, you can embark 3 in one of our aircraft and discover the peaks, cirques and lakes of Luchon, among the most beautiful of the Pyrenees.
