Forêt Domaniale de Crécy

It is the main forest massif of the Somme: 4300 hectares of beech and oak trees to be explored on foot, on horseback or by bicycle; 23 remarkable trees (look for the Richard Beech, a real plant monument), 8 marked circuits, 47km of bridle paths. It is here that the famous battle of Crécy took place

With its 4,322 ha, the Crécy state forest is the department's main forest. Beech and oak are the main tree species. With its many remarkable and sculpted trees, the state forest offers many opportunities to explore and discover its flora and fauna. A picnic area is available at the "Lily of the Valley" clearing. But don't forget to take your garbage with you! Maps of the Crécy state forest (available from the Tourist Information Office in Crécy-en-Ponthieu) are available to help you find your way around.
