Maison La Roche

France > Île-de-France > Paris > 75007 > Paris > 10 square du Docteur Blanche (entrée par le 55 rue du Docteur Blanche)

Designed by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret between 1923 and 1925, the La Roche house nestles at the end of a cul-de-sac on the edge of the Bois de Boulogne. Its white façade, its pure forms and its minimalist decoration are reminiscent of the Villa Savoye, Le Corbusier's emblematic work. And for good reason, it is the first building where he applied the five points of his new architecture: the free plan, the free facade, the pilotis, the windows in horizontal bands and the flat roof. The house is twinned with the Villa Jeanneret, which today houses the Fondation Le Corbusier.
