The history of the Conciergerie is long and eventful. The first royal residence, but also a terrible revolutionary prison, this gothic palace is a key witness to the history of France. Saint Louis, Philippe Le Bel and Robespierre are some of the great figures who are inseparable from the place. Not to be missed: the Salle des Gens d'Armes (1302) and the expiatory chapel dedicated to Marie-Antoinette.
