France > Occitanie > Aveyron > 12120 > Arvieu > Clauzelles

The chapel of Saint André de Clauzelles, an annex of the church of Arvieu, is mentioned around 1120 and was built in the 18th century.

It contains a statue of the Virgin, a copy of Notre-Dame dite des Embergues (14th century) and a Gothic wooden statue of Saint Stephen. The choir flanked by 4 cylindrical buttresses is the oldest part. The small chapel was then fitted out in 1784 with a colourful wooden country altarpiece. The chapel is open to the public, each house in the village of Clauzelles has a key (opening on request). Historical details in the building.
