On the way to an exceptional structure: the Millau Viaduct. Further south, discover the cellars of Roquefort, the king of cheeses.
1. From Sévérac-le-Château, take the A75 towards "Millau" (free of charge except for the Viaduct crossing) 2. Take exit 45 "Millau". At the roundabout, take the 1st right towards " Soulobres - Aire du Viaduc " (6km). Park your vehicle, the access to the area is pedestrian We stop for : - the Viaduct: World record height (343m, higher than the Eiffel Tower), it skims the Tarn valley in 9 points. Models and a video will explain its construction. 3. From the airfield, go back to the roundabout and get off at the roundabout and go down to the town centre of Millau. We stop for : - the town centre of Millau: stroll through the narrow streets and discover the Millau museum, the gloves, the belfry, the Graufesenque archaeological site.. 4. In Millau, follow the direction of Roquefort-Saint-Affrique 5. At the roundabout under the viaduct, go to Peyre by taking a right towards Peyre - Comprégnac. We stop for : - Peyre: village with Mediterranean air classified among the "Most Beautiful Villages of France". Most of its houses are troglodyte, as is its church. Magnificent panorama on the Viaduct. 6. From Peyre, return to the roundabout under the viaduct and take the 1st right, the D992 towards Roquefort. 7. At the Lauras roundabout, turn left towards Roquefort On stop for : - the Roquefort cellars: it is on the rock that you will find the cellars where the famous Roquefort cheese matures. They shelter thousands of Roquefort breads. Visit and/or direct sale: Société, Papillon, Gabriel Coulet, Le vieux Berger, Carles, La Pastourelle.
