The festival of the Transhumance celebrates each year the Aubrac cow which are dressed with thousand flowers for the occasion. Many animations to discover the identity of Aubrac, in the village of the same name.

THURSDAY MAY 23, 2024 Evening discovery of the plateau at 8pm at Eglise ND des Pauvres d'Aubrac. - Veici Ven! show with the Sirventes company. 2 sparkling girls (one an extravagant singer and actress, the other a witty storyteller). Story of a breeder in Occitan. - Tasting of local produce (Boeuf Fermier Aubrac meat a la plancha and Laguiole PDO cheese) - Round-table discussion on livestock farming in Aubrac Admission: ?10 / pers. FRIDAY MAY 24, 2024 Full-day coach tour - to discover the heritage and landscape of Aubrac and the Lot valley, picnic provided by participants. Includes transport and visits to the Vignerons d'Olt cooperative cellar and a farm visit - meeting with livestock farmers. Departure from Aubrac village at 10am. Price: 33 ? / pers. Reservations required at OT Tourisme en Aubrac (contact details below). SATURDAY MAY 25, 2024 - Discovery walk around the village of Aubrac: approx. 2 hours, 8 km. At 2 or 4:30 p.m. Accompanied by a professional guide, you'll discover the Aubrac region: its fauna, flora, geology,... Price: 10 ?/pers. SATURDAY 25 AND SUNDAY 26 MAY 2024 - Salon du Terroir Aubrac : Under the big top on the road to St Chély d'Aubrac. All day from 10am to 7pm. Stalls featuring Aubrac producers, Aubrac tourism, animal presentations, musical traditions, bell displays, folk instruments, etc... - Reconstruction of a buron (in front of the Salon du Terroir on Saturday and in Fontanilles on Sunday) - Chainsaw sculptor - Free. No reservation required. - Initiation to painting on reservation 06 35 95 89 45 - Free. SUNDAY MAY 26, 2024 - Place des Fêtes: 8 transhumance herds pass through and stop at the Place des Fêtes in Aubrac from 10am - presentation of breeders and breeding practices in Aubrac. A herd arrives every hour. - Association MEAL - meal tray, under heated tent: Menu: charcuterie de pays, Aligot de l'Aubrac, Aubrac meat (Boeuf Fermier Aubrac Label Rouge and Fleurs d'Aubrac), Laguiole PDO cheese, dessert, coffee, and Marcillac and Estaing PDO wines. --> Mountain lunch, 29? / pers. Hike following a transhumance herd for about half the circuit, returning to your starting point. Price 22 ? / pers. By reservation at the Aubrac Tourism Office - Musical entertainment and folk dancing throughout Aubrac village - Eglise Notre Dame des Pauvres d'Aubrac: mass at 11am and blessing of the herds at 12pm. - Jardin Botanique de l'Aubrac (Aubrac Botanical Garden): free visit and exhibition all day, no reservation required. - Maison de l'Aubrac: audiovisual visit and exhibition. - Amateur and professional painting competition, prize-giving at 5pm (reservations on 06 35 95 89 45). - Route de St-Chély-d'Aubrac: open-air market of regional products (alongside the Salon du Terroir), followed by wooden games. Free shuttles between Aubrac and the parking lots, and between Aubrac and Fontanilles Admission to the festival is 8? per person (free for under-16s). A wristband will be issued for each payment. No advance booking, payment on arrival in the village on Sunday. Camper-vans may be parked on the roadside verges around the hamlet of Aubrac (route de Saint-Côme-d'Olt) from Thursday, May 23, but no reservations are required. The fee is 20? per motorhome, regardless of the length of the parking period (an emptying tank will be provided) (badge to be collected at the info booth in Aubrac). To this fee must be added the 8?/pers. entry fee to the festival. NEW: Transport to the village of Aubrac on Sunday May 26: 2 bus routes have been set up: - from Mur-de-Barrez, with stops at Ste-Geneviève-sur-Argence, Laguiole and Station du Bouyssou ; - from Rodez, with stops at Bozouls and Espalion. For 4?/pers. (round trip) (add festival entrance fee of 8?/pers.), reserve your seats to avoid having to use your own vehicle.
