Statue de la Vierge dorée

Statue raised in the nineteenth century (1867) on the occasion of a Mission on the heights of the town, at the top of the peak Chabaud. The mission was decided by Fr. Louis Alexis, then the parish priest.The order of the statue was placed to vine of Lyon institutions, based on a model created to Lourdes by Joseph Fabisch. It took all the energy of the men, the Carters and horses, to bring the 1860 kg of the statue at the top of the Hill.Installed on a base of stone, it culminates ten meters of height. On the pedestal of the statue you had engraved the inscription: "Posueront me custodem" (they have established their guardian).The statue is located at the site of a calvary of 1844. Way of the cross was rising from the city to the statue.
